A community built on kindness, connection, and happiness. Starting with Nepali-origin youth in the U.S., but growing into something much bigger.
As with every international student or an immigrant studying or living abroad, we often feel lonely at times. Be it whoever but there can come a time (god forbid not) where he/she feels lonely, misses being in a happy community, or just misses being happy altogether.
But this does not only have to be relatable to the immigrant community alone. Humans in general have become lonelier and more deprived of happiness in recent times. And, its no surprise. Most importantly, young adults are vulnerable in this aspect.
Therefore, I am building a "Happy Happy Club", where we want everyone to be happy, healthy, and more happyy.
Although the goal is to go beyond ages and selective demographics, I want to start with Nepali-origin folks or Nepali folks living in the States, who are between the ages of 16–28.
The events and activities we do at Happy Happy Club should help members grow and develop socially, emotionally, and culturally. We want the members to be happy and make others happy — intentionally and intrinsically.
I believe happiness is one of the rare things on earth that grows when shared.
Personally, I have always been a pretty outgoing person. I have often heard from my closed ones that I am a jack-of-all-trades and someone who is quite easy to talk to. I could not disagree, and I love that about myself.
But depression took a lot from me that was mine. I lost my health, my relationship, my money, and most importantly, myself.
I was suicidal at one point.
It was crazy to think that someone like me could ever be depressed. And it's even crazier to think that I am here, writing the foundation of a nonprofit organization that will help people be happy — if not happier.
I just bought the domain www.happyhappyclub.org, and soon I will register the nonprofit org as well. I will need to work on the legal side of things to make it happen, and gather volunteers/partners as well. Hit me up at my email if you're interested in collaboration.
I am super pumped about this. And since this is something very personal to me, I expect to invest a lot of time and devotion into it.
Cheers to our pursuit of happyyness.

fun & challenging games
we’ll have a bunch of group games—some physical, some mental, some social, and some a mix of everything. from fun challenges like the classic marble-on-a-spoon race (which i personally love) to games that need coordination, teamwork, and quick thinking, there’ll be something for everyone to enjoy.
creative platform to share art, litreature or anything cool
think of this as a space to share your latest poem, try your first stand-up set, practice a class presentation, or just express anything you’re excited about. i might even recite a ghazal or two myself—let’s see how that goes :)
community services and helping hands
we’ll take part in all kinds of community service—like community gardening, supporting refugees, city clean-ups, and more. we’ll also collaborate with other organizations and help out with their events.
cultural learning and exchange
staying connected to our culture is so important, especially in a time of overly minimalistic living and the quiet sense of inferiority that can sometimes grow within immigrant communities. together, we’ll explore our rich traditions, stories, and rituals through fun, engaging activities, and create a space where we can reconnect, take pride, and share openly.
& whole lotta cool things
while i’m laying the foundation for this club/org, i want members to take the lead in shaping what we do. keep sharing your ideas—we’ll build this together and make it happen.
